James & I will be celebrating our 11th anniversary this month but our marriage hasn’t always been a walk in the park. Yes, it’s been filled with love & moments of pure joy but it’s also been filled with death, near death, disease, NICU stays, depression, counseling, & even an ambulance birth. But God took each of these moments & made beauty from ashes. Even when it was dark, even while we were hurting, God’s hands were weaving our story for His glory & our good. Everyone has a story but if you’ve ever wanted to know about ours, you can now listen to it below thanks to a speech I gave this week to the Round Rock MOPS group.
I was so honored when they asked me to be the speaker this month & share my story. It was exciting & nerve racking all at the same time! I’ve never had to write & give a 45-minute speech & also never spoken to such a large group (around 90 women). It took lots of prayer & months of preparation to pull it off. I’m so thankful it’s over & I can finally breathe once again- ha!
I want to thank my friends Cassie for letting me borrow her music stand, Ryan for loaning me the video equipment to tape my speech, Amanda & Elaine for texting me encouraging notes last night & this morning, Suzanne for taking pictures for me, my best friend Catherine for critiquing my speech & being a source of endless support, & to everyone who has been praying for me. I’ve been blessed with such incredible people in my life! But most importantly I want to thank my husband James who read countless versions of my speech & gave me feedback, took care of the kids so I could write, took off work this morning & got the kids dressed, feed, & out the door so I could get ready in peace, & attended my speech just to show his support. I couldn’t have done it without you babe – thank you for loving me so well not just today but every day!
